Shrink tunnel

Shrink tunnel for efficient shrink packaging and reliable product protection

Our shrink tunnels are a reliable solution for professional shrink packaging. The products are gently and evenly wrapped in shrink film, creating a stable, protective cover. This means that goods are ideally protected from moisture, dust and damage. BVS shrink tunnels can be used flexibly, as they can be optimally adapted to different types of film and product sizes thanks to variable settings for temperature and conveyor speed. Whether for the food industry, the beverage, printing or non-food sector - our systems will noticeably increase your packaging efficiency.

What is a shrink tunnel?

Shrink tunnels are specialized packaging systems that transport packaged products through a heated channel. Under controlled heat, the shrink film is drawn tightly around the goods and forms a firm, snug-fitting wrap. This process is established in many sectors, for example in the food processing, pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries. It is used both to protect products and to enhance their appearance.

How does a shrink tunnel work?

Inside the tunnel, heat - usually from hot air, more rarely from infrared radiation or steam - is evenly distributed. As the products pass through on a conveyor belt, the film reacts to the heat, contracts and adheres closely to each contour. In some systems, additional air nozzles or rollers at the outlet ensure that the film sleeve is perfectly smoothed and fixed. The temperature, air flow and conveyor speed can be precisely adjusted to accommodate different film thicknesses and product properties.

Possible applications in different industries

  • Food: Packaging of meat, cheese, baked goods or fresh fruit and vegetables - often in combination with modified atmosphere.
  • Pharma: hygienic and tamper-proof packaging for medicines, medical devices and consumables.
  • Cosmetics: attractive presentation and protection for bottles, cream jars or sets.
  • Industry and trade: Bundling of bottles, cans, electronic components or tools, also common in automotive supply.

Advantages of modern shrink tunnels

  • All-round protection: The shrink film acts as a barrier against dust, moisture and scratches.
  • Improved product appearance: A smooth, taut film sleeve increases sales value and brand perception.
  • Hygiene: The film is easy to clean and supports high standards of cleanliness.
  • Versatility: Suitable for different product sizes, shapes and film types.
  • Energy efficiency: Current models have thermally insulated housings, optimized air flow and economical power consumption.

Variants and additional functions

Shrink tunnels are available in various designs: compact tabletop units for small quantities, high-performance systems for industrial mass production or hybrid solutions in combination with Welding systems. Some models have zones with different temperature ranges in order to package even complex product shapes evenly. In many cases, the conveyor speed, cooling zone and air circulation can be individually programmed to achieve perfect packaging results.

Packaging - As much as necessary,
as little as possible

BVS uses the NaturePak label for products that enable ecologically sound use, reduce CO2 emissions and generate less waste, regardless of the packaging material used.

Our strategy

  • Less packaging means less waste
  • Better protection through high quality
  • Packaging materials made from recycled raw materials or equivalent proportions
  • Economical packaging systems reduce material and energy consumption
  • Ecological customer solutions regardless of material
  • Objective information about different packaging materials

Packaging made from recycled paper

Paper pays off for people and the environment in the long term. It is even better to use paper with a high recycled content. Recycled paper optimizes water and energy consumption and thus protects the environment and climate by reducing waste. Recycled paper offers a wide range of added value for all users.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Saves energy and water
  • Less waste through optimal recycling

Plastic packaging with recycled content

Polyethylene films are increasingly being produced with a proportion of recycled material, which - as far as technically possible - is being continuously increased. They are the most modern and safest quality packaging for all branches of industry. Due to their low density and excellent physical and mechanical properties, PE films have major advantages over paper, cardboard, metal and glass.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Can be recycled again and again
  • Is a lightweight material with a high protective effect
  • Significantly reduces food waste when used in the food industry
  • Generates much less waste than glass, metal or paper
