Skin film

Skin film - customized packaging solution for optimum product protection

Do you want to package your products safely, cleanly and visibly at the same time? Then skin film is just the thing. The film clings to the product like a second skin: it is transparent, tear-resistant and keeps its shape perfectly. Whether it's a PC mouse, screwdriver, spare parts or electronic accessories - with skin film packaging, your items remain fixed, protected and perfectly presented. Thanks to vacuum skin film, nothing slips and even delicate or misshapen items stay exactly in place. This not only makes the goods safe for transportation, but also ensures a tidy look in the shipping box or at the point of sale.

What is a skin film?

Skin film is a particularly thin, transparent plastic layer that wraps around a product like a protective cover during packaging. In combination with a stable cardboard or plastic carrier plate, skin packaging is created in which the product is visually appealing and securely fixed.

Features and areas of application

The Skin machine draws the skin film directly onto the product and the base with heat and vacuum. The vacuum causes the product to adhere firmly to the carton, while the film adapts precisely to its shape. This creates firm packaging that does not require any additional holders. The film protects the product from dust, moisture and impact. As the film is transparent, the product is clearly visible - perfect for sales or quality control.

Wide range of applications

Skin packaging is not only used in the food industry, but also in the technical sector. Typical products are

  • Technology & accessories: e.g. screws, tools, electronic components
  • Consumer goods: e.g. PC mice, cables, small parts
  • Leisure products: e.g. camping or sporting goods

In the area of food packaging, skin film can help to extend the freshness and shelf life of products such as meat or cheese.

Why is skin packaging so convincing?

  • Optimum product presentation thanks to clear film
  • High product protection against environmental influences
  • the product remains intact
  • Space-saving in storage and shipping
  • Efficient and economical, even with large quantities
  • Thanks to vacuum sealing, food retains its extra freshness

Packaging - As much as necessary,
as little as possible

BVS uses the NaturePak label for products that enable ecologically sound use, reduce CO2 emissions and generate less waste, regardless of the packaging material used.

Our strategy

  • Less packaging means less waste
  • Better protection through high quality
  • Packaging materials made from recycled raw materials or equivalent proportions
  • Economical packaging systems reduce material and energy consumption
  • Ecological customer solutions regardless of material
  • Objective information about different packaging materials

Packaging made from recycled paper

Paper pays off for people and the environment in the long term. It is even better to use paper with a high recycled content. Recycled paper optimizes water and energy consumption and thus protects the environment and climate by reducing waste. Recycled paper offers a wide range of added value for all users.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Saves energy and water
  • Less waste through optimal recycling

Plastic packaging with recycled content

Polyethylene films are increasingly being produced with a proportion of recycled material, which - as far as technically possible - is being continuously increased. They are the most modern and safest quality packaging for all branches of industry. Due to their low density and excellent physical and mechanical properties, PE films have major advantages over paper, cardboard, metal and glass.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Can be recycled again and again
  • Is a lightweight material with a high protective effect
  • Significantly reduces food waste when used in the food industry
  • Generates much less waste than glass, metal or paper
