Conveyor technology

What is a roller conveyor?

A roller conveyor is a conveyor system consisting of several rollers mounted on a sturdy frame. This design allows objects such as packages or pallets to be transported efficiently - either by gravity or with the help of a mechanical drive. Roller conveyors can be used for various purposes, such as the transportation, sorting, distribution and storage of goods.

Briefly explained

  • Structure: Roller conveyors consist of rollers arranged in parallel and fixed in a frame.
  • How it works: The rollers move as soon as an object rests on them and is transported. This can be done either by gravity, if the track is slightly inclined, or by a mechanical drive.
  • Areas of application: Roller conveyors are suitable for transporting a wide variety of goods, such as cartons, pallets, containers or workpieces.
  • Advantages: They ensure a smooth material flow, reduce manual transportation and support the automation of production and storage processes.
  • Types of roller conveyors: There are different variants, including straight roller conveyors, curved roller conveyors, scissor roller conveyors, light roller conveyors and accumulation roller conveyors.
  • Drive: Roller conveyors can be driven or drive-free. Driveless systems use gravity or a slight incline to move the objects.
  • Materials: The castors are made from different materials such as steel or plastic, depending on the application requirements.

Packaging - As much as necessary,
as little as possible

BVS uses the NaturePak label for products that enable ecologically sound use, reduce CO2 emissions and generate less waste, regardless of the packaging material used.

Our strategy

  • Less packaging means less waste
  • Better protection through high quality
  • Packaging materials made from recycled raw materials or equivalent proportions
  • Economical packaging systems reduce material and energy consumption
  • Ecological customer solutions regardless of material
  • Objective information about different packaging materials

Packaging made from recycled paper

Paper pays off for people and the environment in the long term. It is even better to use paper with a high recycled content. Recycled paper optimizes water and energy consumption and thus protects the environment and climate by reducing waste. Recycled paper offers a wide range of added value for all users.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Saves energy and water
  • Less waste through optimal recycling

Plastic packaging with recycled content

Polyethylene films are increasingly being produced with a proportion of recycled material, which - as far as technically possible - is being continuously increased. They are the most modern and safest quality packaging for all branches of industry. Due to their low density and excellent physical and mechanical properties, PE films have major advantages over paper, cardboard, metal and glass.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Can be recycled again and again
  • Is a lightweight material with a high protective effect
  • Significantly reduces food waste when used in the food industry
  • Generates much less waste than glass, metal or paper
