A horizontal wrapper is a packaging machine that has been specially developed for long, narrow products such as pipes, profiles, window frames or strips. In contrast to conventional pallet wrappers, it works horizontally: the product is fed horizontally through the machine, while a wrapping ring or similar mechanism wraps the stretch film around it in a spiral or at specific points.
The product to be packaged is placed on a conveyor belt or a suitable support and transported through the wrapping area. There, a ring rotates around the product and applies the film evenly. Depending on the setting, the film can be applied as a narrow band or in several overlapping strips. Many models have automatic systems for inserting and cutting the film to speed up the process and reduce operating effort.
