And the goods roll and roll and roll. - Hemag Nova

BVS optimizes packaging processes and implements customer-specific solutions for all aspects of the packaging workstation. Also for you.

In collaboration with the team at Hemag Nova AG in Aadorf (wholesale company for e-cigarettes and tobacco products in the B2B sector), BVS Verpackungs-Systeme was able to realize a great project that has significantly increased the efficiency and ergonomics of the packaging process.

Initial situation

Originally, a simple, non-driven roller conveyor was requested for a buffer section to temporarily store the shipping goods before onward transportation. Our project manager Sinisa Popadic analyzed the existing processes and work steps on site and presented an efficient solution that went one step further. Previously, employees were involved in all work steps from picking to strapping the parcels. The new idea was to organize the work steps based on a division of labour and thus shorten the distances in the packaging process.

Solution

The newly installed, powered roller conveyor transports the picked goods in KLT boxes to the packing tables. The packing tables have integrated silos for air cushioning material, which allow easy access to the filling material and therefore fast packing of the dispatch goods. The underfloor conveyor technology transports the parcels ready for dispatch to the goods issue area. Larger parcels are no longer filled on the floor, but by an integrated lifting unit at the workstation at an ergonomic working height and then brought to the height of the roller conveyor and transported to the strapping station.

Result

  • Significantly fewer walking distances for employees
  • Increased efficiency of the work steps
  • Improved ergonomics at the workplace
  • Cost savings through optimized upholstery material

Packaging - As much as necessary,
as little as possible

BVS uses the NaturePak label for products that enable ecologically sound use, reduce CO2 emissions and generate less waste, regardless of the packaging material used.

Our strategy

  • Less packaging means less waste
  • Better protection through high quality
  • Packaging materials made from recycled raw materials or equivalent proportions
  • Economical packaging systems reduce material and energy consumption
  • Ecological customer solutions regardless of material
  • Objective information about different packaging materials

Packaging made from recycled paper

Paper pays off for people and the environment in the long term. It is even better to use paper with a high recycled content. Recycled paper optimizes water and energy consumption and thus protects the environment and climate by reducing waste. Recycled paper offers a wide range of added value for all users.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Saves energy and water
  • Less waste through optimal recycling

Plastic packaging with recycled content

Polyethylene films are increasingly being produced with a proportion of recycled material, which - as far as technically possible - is being continuously increased. They are the most modern and safest quality packaging for all branches of industry. Due to their low density and excellent physical and mechanical properties, PE films have major advantages over paper, cardboard, metal and glass.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Can be recycled again and again
  • Is a lightweight material with a high protective effect
  • Significantly reduces food waste when used in the food industry
  • Generates much less waste than glass, metal or paper
