Air cushion system

Air cushion systems for the efficient filling of cavities in packaging

Our high-performance air cushioning systems are a flexible and sustainable solution for void filling, padding and product protection in shipping packaging. Whether for online retail, industry or logistics: with our machine-based air cushion solutions, you can produce cushioning pads or air cushion mats directly at the packing station as required. This saves storage space, reduces material consumption and reliably protects your products during transportation. Our systems are ideal for use in shipping departments, fulfillment centers or for high parcel volumes.

What is an air cushion machine?

An air cushioning machine is a device that automatically fills flat rolls of film with air and seals them to produce air cushions in the shape of pillows or mats. These cushions serve as shock-absorbing filling material when shipping goods and reduce the need for stored finished cushions. Thanks to their compact design, the machines can be used directly at the packing station. This means that the exact amount of padding material required is always produced, saving storage space and costs.

Functionality

  • Insert film: The flat films, which are supplied on rolls or in boxes, are inserted into the machine.
  • Filling with air: The machine pumps air into the film in a targeted manner.
  • Sealing: At the same time, weld seams are made at defined points to keep the air in the upholstery.
  • Separate: Perforations make it easy to separate the individual pads so that they can be used without complications.

Advantages of an air cushion machine

  • Production on demand: Upholstery material is only produced when needed, eliminating storage space for finished upholstery.
  • Cost savings: The demand-oriented production and space-saving storage of the raw films can reduce material and storage costs.
  • Efficiency at the packing station: The machines can be integrated directly into the packaging process and simplify it considerably.
  • Flexibility: Both air cushions for cavities and mats for wrapping products can be produced without any problems.
  • Resource-saving: The machines produce lightweight hollow cushions that use little material and are therefore an environmentally friendly packaging solution.

Packaging - As much as necessary,
as little as possible

BVS uses the NaturePak label for products that enable ecologically sound use, reduce CO2 emissions and generate less waste, regardless of the packaging material used.

Our strategy

  • Less packaging means less waste
  • Better protection through high quality
  • Packaging materials made from recycled raw materials or equivalent proportions
  • Economical packaging systems reduce material and energy consumption
  • Ecological customer solutions regardless of material
  • Objective information about different packaging materials

Packaging made from recycled paper

Paper pays off for people and the environment in the long term. It is even better to use paper with a high recycled content. Recycled paper optimizes water and energy consumption and thus protects the environment and climate by reducing waste. Recycled paper offers a wide range of added value for all users.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Saves energy and water
  • Less waste through optimal recycling

Plastic packaging with recycled content

Polyethylene films are increasingly being produced with a proportion of recycled material, which - as far as technically possible - is being continuously increased. They are the most modern and safest quality packaging for all branches of industry. Due to their low density and excellent physical and mechanical properties, PE films have major advantages over paper, cardboard, metal and glass.

  • Protects the environment and reduces CO2 emissions
  • Can be recycled again and again
  • Is a lightweight material with a high protective effect
  • Significantly reduces food waste when used in the food industry
  • Generates much less waste than glass, metal or paper
